Biography
Ivor
Ottley is a versatile fiddle player based in Kinvara, Co.
Galway on the West Coast of Ireland. Ivor
began his musical career playing American Old-time and Bluegrass
fiddle. Curiosity and a natural flair for improvisation inevitably
lead him to jazz before going on as a mature student to study
classical violin at Trinity College of Music, London.
A
desire for stylistic integrity and the belief that a strong
sense of the spirit and soul of these styles are contained
in the communities from where they originate have led to him
travel both in Europe and the USA studying and playing with
many of the worlds leading fiddle players. Ivor is in demand
both as a performer and recording artist, as well as having
broadcast frequently and toured extensively throughout Europe
and the USA.
